According to the owners of Salon Park Avenue, an AVEDA Concept salon, staying in front of the salon world is what makes their business unique. Carolyn McLeod and Joan Stembridge credit their 35 year business partnership for the ongoing success of their salon and day spa. It is their shared mission of constant education on the latest trends and techniques and their tight teamwork approach to top quality service that puts them at the head of the pack. “And, we are the only Aveda salon in the region. We use the finest hair color in the world and the results are unmatched due to the exclusive and extraordinary Aveda products,” Joan adds with a smile. Carolyn goes on to explain their service approach which “is based on teamwork, not independent booth rental like most salons. We work together for the best of each individual. You can try any stylist, any time. It is very common for a client to see several different stylists for their various services. We also have many clients who occasionally visit our salon when their regular stylist is off or doesn’t offer all of the services we do. We gladly provide just what they need without expecting them to change shops. And we provide every service for men as well.”
Looking at their outstanding website at salonparkavenue.com provides an excellent overview of their wide array of services and brilliant approach to pricing. Joan explains their smart a la carte pricing as “a way for the client to select only the services they need. If you just shampooed before you came to the salon and you are going to pull your hair in a ponytail to work in the garden when you get home, skip the shampoo and blow dry and select only a great haircut. We also charge $2 a piece for foil highlights or lowlights. If you just need a little touch up or an accent here or there, professional top quality color is more affordable than drug store boxed color!” It doesn’t have to break your budget to have the finest services and products in a sparkling clean, relaxing and revitalizing setting.
Stop in for a walk through of the salon. You will recognize the difference when you walk in the door: this is how the “new Old Southern Charm” looks and feels. The private and nurturing massage treatment room includes a shower and a sumptuous menu of services. How refreshing to see a secluded pedicure area where your relaxation and comfort take center stage. The salon features care of the natural nail so you won’t have to inhale artificial nail chemicals when you enjoy a manicure in our sunny enclosed porch.
The privacy of the wig department speaks to the 25 years of Salon Park Avenue’s dedication to American Cancer Society’s Look Good Feel Better program and ongoing volunteering at the Pearlman Cancer Center. Toupees, fun hair additions, state of the art wigs, specialized fitting and styling are all part of the daily activity.
The skin care department exclusively features Aveda products. If you are looking for a relaxing getaway, snuggle in to a cocoon-like aroma filled experience that is sure to transport you to complete rejuvenation. If instead you are ready for a regime to make deep improvements on your skin, our esthetician will introduce you to micro-dermabrasion and targeted treatments along with luxurious and effective home care Aveda products. The new updated Aveda mineral make up line is featured and consultation, application pointers, and take home products are always available. A complete selection of waxing services, preformed with an emphasis on hygienic cleanliness for your peace of mind, is offered to women and men.
The talented team at Salon Park Avenue, an AVEDA Concept Salon looks forward to personally welcoming you to Valdosta! |

Bishop Cleaners
3115 N. Oak Street Ext. • Valdosta • 229-244-2471
1301 Baytree Road • Valdosta • 229-242-8540

 |
Since 1954, Bishop Cleaners has been delivering more than just clean and pressed clothes to Valdosta families. Experts at what they do, this family owned business has operated under the concept of “If I’m going to be a dry cleaner, I am going to be best.” And they are the best because they are visionaries in their field. It’s more than just shirts and dresses. It’s doing what others don’t – restoring fire damaged household items to their original state by hand cleaning and treating in their Ozone room, cleaning up after water damage (including the ability to dry carpet in your home without removing it), custom cleaning, packaging and shipping wedding gowns in display boxes that preserve your memories forever, eliminating pet urine smells and stains from everything, including that silk Oriental rug that you’ve had forever. These folks do it all. Linens, furniture, art, leather, fabric, even the Chick-fil-a Mascot gets a bath here. Their long-time staff are specialty trained and certified to do what needs to be done – from the IICRC and the SCRT as well as other out of state continuing education programs.
If you don’t know who can clean it, it’s guaranteed they’ll go that extra mile to make sure they can. |
